About OMEP?

OMEP is the world's leading early childhood development organisation, founded in 1948. It is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation working in more than 70 countries to protect the rights of all children from birth to the age of eight.

OMEP promotes work towards the realisation of the right to quality early childhood education. OMEP's many initiatives include training and skills development for early childhood professionals through conferences, seminars, courses and competitions.

Global collaboration

Through its scientific and pedagogical efforts in the field of early childhood education, OMEP collects and shares good practices, reports and documents to support constructive debates on the provision of high-quality education worldwide.

OMEP is also actively involved in public policy formulation and the development of high-quality early childhood education systems, working closely with UNICEF and other global organisations.

It is currently active on all continents and in 72 countries. OMEP Slovenia was founded on 1 March 2023 and was accepted as part of the global organisation at the World Assembly on 29 July 2023.

OMEP is advocating for high-quality, developmentally appropriate and relevant education for children from birth to the start of compulsory schooling.

With this international project, we invite you to explore water as a vital resource for life. Kindergartens and schools are invited to explore local water landscapes with children aged 4 to 8 and listen to their thoughts, stories, and drawings about water.

Color Our Rights is international art project, which offers children a unique opportunity to explore, express, and understand their rights and responsibilities through creativity. Together, we can shape a world where peace, understanding, and responsibility are at the forefront.
